My deck

I began my tarot journey many moons ago, in the enchanting enclaves of San Francisco. My friend Sean had an old Rider-Waite deck in a red velvet satchel. He claimed a mysterious stranger gifted it to him randomly one day while out on the streets of Berkeley. This deck was, well it gave uncanny valley vibes. Cards would disappear, reappear, be ridiculously spot on every single time. I honestly thought Sean was pulling sleight of hand but he would always deny he was doing anything. Which is hilarious. Well no matter , I was thrilled and began practicing on my own. Thank you Sean for the magic.
The Rider-Waite is a popular deck. The pictures are easy to understand. Alas I needed something with more grit and tenacity and I found it in Aleister Crowley's Thoth deck. I hope we can look beyond the controversy of his life, and appreciate the masterful quality of his work. He was well versed in the secrets of the Order of the Golden Dawn, Hindu, Jewish and Egyptian mysticism and ceremonial magik. He brought us out of the archaic medieval symbology into a system that better conveys the current spiritual realities that underlay the Tarot.
The Thoth is a beautiful and sophisticated deck designed upon the foundation of the Kabballah. The mystical tree of life, which begins as seeds of divine conscious energy above and before the world of manifestation. These archetypal emanations, The Fool, The Magus, and The Priestess funnel their pure energy down into the abyss. It is there that the manifested world solidifies into spheres and takes shape, first through The Empress, then The Emperor, and so on in the varying major and the elemental minor arcana. Here we can understand how Spirit functions and breathes life into every arena of the world. The good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful.
My deck is well behaved, as I only tune into the Divine Mother for intuitions, as she is our one cosmic mother. She is the only one that I trust to channel and I like to call her Nu. No new age spirit guides. Just Divine Mother. So in this little blog post, here I am revealing to you a little about who I am. I hope you enjoyed reading. For now, divine love be upon you, star-child.
